Wanderers Losing Streak Drawn to a Close

Five games in, Wanderers have finally opened their A-league tally for the season with a 0-all draw against Central Coast tonight at Parramatta.

Wanderers fans are not used to losing, will be pleased to see a point for the Asian Champions who remain at the bottom of the A-league ladder. It also brings to an end to their record 5 game A-league losing streak.

In the first 40 minutes of the match, there were only 3 shots and none of them near the net. The last five minutes delivered some material for the highlight reel with the Wanderers starting to put some attacking pressure on the Mariners with a series of corners and 2 shots that were easily the best chances of the half.

Forget the first half, nothing much happened. After the half time show the game starting to get interesting with both sides opening up and moving on from the midfield.

After testing their midfield skills, the second half turned to attack with the Wanderers having the best chances and a greater number of shots on goal. Central Coast’s was able to defend strongly and didn’t allow Western Sydney to dominate the match.

Like the first half, the last five minutes were the most exciting. The Wanderers gained all the chances for a last minute winner but the scoreboard went begging for a goal.

The Wanderers busy schedule will continue with their third match in eight days against Newcastle on Saturday afternoon. Tonight’s match was a rescheduled game due to their Asian Championship commitments.
