Fairfield’s Pamela Ordona Wong has experienced the worst when it comes to cancer. She lost her mother to lung cancer in 2001 and her father to stomach cancer in 2012.
Fairfield Champion reported that the mother of one said she underwent chemotherapy last year and was fortunate to recover.
“Both of my parents’ cancers were very aggressive,” she said.
“Mum was diagnosed with lung cancer in November 2000 and died in February 2001 while Dad was diagnosed with his cancer in October 2012 and was gone a month later.”
This is why Mrs Wong has decided to take part in this year’s Weekend to End Women’s Cancers.
The walk will take place from November 8 to 9. Mrs Wong is hoping to raise $5000.
