Passionate about the natural environment, sign up to Liverpool’s Environment Volunteer Program.
Everyone is welcome from local residents, local students to community groups.

Following a COVID-19 hiatus, environment volunteers are back with a new group established at Tucker Road, Casula. There are 10 environment volunteer groups working on bush regeneration sites across Liverpool.

“Our environment volunteer groups are very much appreciated. In normal circumstances they get together once every month and spend a couple of hours restoring bushland by planting native trees and shrubs, weeding and litter removal,” Mayor Waller said.

“You don’t have to be a green thumb to help protect our natural environment or biodiversity. All you need is enthusiasm for improving the local area.

“Environmental volunteering is a great way to get outdoors, meet new people, keep mentally and physically fit and do something positive for the environment and our community.

“All equipment and training are provided. We just need more hands on deck,” the Mayor said.

Other activities that volunteers can be involved in include water testing, bird watching and nature photography.

Council’s environment volunteer groups adhere to NSW Health COVID-19 guidelines.

The environment groups meet once a month at:

• Collimore Park in Liverpool,
• Cessna Reserve in Middleton Grange,
• Amalfi Park in Lurnea,
• Clinches Pond in Moorebank,
• Weaving Garden in Casula,
• Voyager Park in Voyager Point,
• Elouera Bushland Reserve in Liverpool (with streamwatch),
• Chauvel Park in Chipping Norton,
• Tucker Road Reserve in Casula,
• Light Horse Park in Liverpool (with streamwatch).
