On 31 December 2021, Liverpool City Council’s signature New Year’s Eve celebration Light Up the Sky returns to help the residents of Liverpool herald in 2022.
This follows a successful debut last year when Light Up the Sky became the second largest celebration in New South Wales, following the Sydney Harbour fireworks.
The simultaneous fireworks display will commence at 9pm at six different activation sites across the Liverpool Local Government Area, leveraging high level aerial shells and wide effects to maximise visibility from homes, backyards, and driveways.
Those unable to view the fireworks will have the chance to view and share a livestream of the fireworks display with their family and friends on the Liverpool Council Facebook page.
Liverpool has emerged from one of the toughest and longest lockdowns in Greater Sydney.
Council’s Light Up the Sky celebration is a testament to what can be achieved with innovation and creativity and heralds a new era of COVID Safe events in a post-lockdown environment.
The firing sites of Council’s NYE: Light Up the Sky will be located throughout the Local Government Area in the suburbs of Hammondville, Moorebank, Sadleir, Casula, Prestons and West Hoxton. These sites have been chosen by our pyrotechnics suppliers to ensure the sites meet all the necessary requirements in size and surrounds to maximise both safety and visibility.
