Visit Woodward Park this Australia Day to see an explosive performance by Samantha Jade (X-Factor winner 2012) who is ready to turn it “Up!” with her latest release ‘Sweet Talk’.

The festival will feature a spectacular fireworks display, X-Factor’s soulful Tee and mesmerising Chaska (xox) will be singing as a duo as well as taking to the stage with solo performances.

Liverpool City Mayor, Ned Mannoun, said there would be entertainment of all kinds around the park from daylight to dusk with a firework spectacular that will light up the sky.

Families will be in their element with children’s activities including the adorable Lalaloopsy Girls, roaming characters and a selection of cultural performances featured throughout the festival program.

This inclusive event offers an affordable day out with free entry, rides at just $2 a ticket, plus the option to pack your own picnic. There will also be shade and dining areas at which the community can recharge between activities and a water refill station for water bottles.

Liverpool’s Australia Day isn’t short on variety with a stack of carnival food stalls, with interactive games run by the Liverpool Youth Council and a Samantha Jade inspired ‘Sweet Talk’ lolly guessing competition with a chance to take home a giant jar of sweets.

“This event is sure to top previous year’s celebrations with Liverpool’s Australia Day 2014 attracting a crowd of 30,000 people, said Liverpool City Mayor.

Liverpool is taking it up a notch by putting on a show stopping event that will intrigue all ages and embraces Australian themes with a ‘best dressed’ competition. The Australiana arena will put the spotlight on Australia’s traditional activities and will include sheep shearing and whip cracking.

“We are never too shy to pull-out all stops for our community and we want to invite everyone else to come along for the ride as we embrace the diversity of Liverpool and the beautiful place we call home, said the Mayor.

“Australia Day to me is about celebrating the traditional custodians of the land, embracing each other’s differences and replicating the true Australiana spirit by having a good time,” he said.

The Citizenship and Australia Day Awards and Order of Liverpool Awards Ceremony will also be held in Woodward Park as part of the celebrations.

This is a drug and alcohol free event proudly brought to you by Liverpool City Council. Inclement weather will result in cancellation of the event.
