Cabramatta Moon Festival 2024

Fairfield City’s biggest Southeast Asian celebration is on again! Save the date for the iconic Cabramatta Moon Festival on Sunday 8th September 2024 at Cabramatta Town Centre.A jam-packed day of live entertainment, food and market stalls, traditional lion dance, musical performances, carnival games, evening fireworks and plenty of family fun throughout the day.

Get ready for an exciting program for everyone to enjoy, featuring the Michael Jackson King of Pop tribute show, crowd favourite Instagrammer Dimsimlim, plus live cultural performances, captivating lion dances, food and market stalls, activities for the kids, and fireworks!

Presented by Fairfield City Council, the Cabramatta Moon Festival is FREE to attend and celebrates the traditional harvest festival, with the amazing colour and spirit of Australia’s largest south-east Asian community, with locals and visitors from all backgrounds and cultures.

Every year across Southeast Asia, millions of people celebrate the Moon Festival in early September.

This festival is also referred to as the Mid-Autumn Festival or, in Vietnam, as the Trung Thu Festival. The date is almost never the same, as it is determined by the equinox, the day of the year when daylight and darkness are equal in length, this being the 15th day of the 8th lunar month.

From the exciting lion dance and parade to beautiful traditional dances, complete with costumes and vibrant live performances, the Cabramatta Moon Festival event offers a diverse and inclusive program, closing with an amazing fireworks finale.
